Some National Association of REALTORS® (“NAR”) members have received mailers from Domainnetworks.com claiming to offer “domain listing” services for domain names, including .realestate domain names. These mailers are deceptive and appear to be an invoice for domain registration and renewal services. This mailer is not from NAR and is not an invoice for renewing your .realtor or .realestate domain names. If you receive one of these mailers, please do not respond or provide any personal or financial information. We also encourage you to report this scam to the Federal Trade Commission, the Internet Crime Complaint Center, and the State Consumer Protection Offices.
Where can I learn more about protecting my personal information? Do you have resources on internet and cell phone safety?
We urge members to always be vigilant with their personal and financial information and to never provide personal or financial data to a company or person you do not recognize. Always independently verify any company, person or payment instructions before transacting business. If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of a communication pertaining to an NAR service or product, please hang up and contact our Member Support team directly by dialing 800-874-6500, or contact us via live chat or email.
NAR has a wealth of information regarding data security, internet and social media best practices, fraud prevention, privacy, and safety. Please see the resources below, and email Librarians@nar.realtor with any research questions.
