How .realtor™ quickly became one of the most used new TLDs

But there are some key differences with  .realtor™, and why I think it has done a lot to move new TLDs forward as a whole. First, although most of the registrations were free, REALTORS® had to actually register them and were limited to just one for free. This means that 80,000 people are now more aware of what’s right of the dot. In other words, they understand a bit more about what a new TLD is.

Groups start promoting new domain names to members

Associated General Contractors of America wants to help members cut through the online clutter. Beginning in mid-April, AGC members can receive a discounted price for a new address using .build—one of hundreds of new generic top-level domains to be added to the Internet this year and next.“It will be easier for our members to be found,” said Jeff Wilson, AGC chief marketing strategist. “It was an opportunity for us to join the train early as well.”
