How can I add an opt-in field and message to the forms on my website?

Adding an opt-in field and language to the forms on your website helps ensure you’re complying with email marketing regulations and building trust with your audience. It clearly informs visitors that by submitting a form, they agree to receive communications from you.

Here's how to add an opt-in field and language to your website forms:

1. Log into your .RealEstate account and navigate to your website editor.

2)  Once in logged in, navigate to the form(s) you’d like to add an opt-in field and language to.

3) Click on the form or “Go to popup” link and then click on the form. This will open a “Contact Form Content” box.

4) Under the “Form Items” tab at the top, select “Add field” and under “Field type” scroll down and select “Opt-In.”

 5) You can include your opt-in message in the text box below, and link to you full privacy policy in the text box as well (i.e. I agree to receive marketing emails and updates from [Your Name/Business]. For our full privacy policy click [here].) Make the checkbox required if you want to ensure explicit consent before submission.

6) Repeat the process across all the forms/pop up forms on your website.

7) Once you've added the option to all forms, make sure to republish your site to ensure the changes are live.

Note, we cannot provide legal guidance on the specific opt-in language or privacy policy required for your website.

To create a privacy policy, you may consider using third-party services such as Termly or consulting a legal professional to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
